12-Week Fun and Fitness Program

This program for women grew out of the need to create a safe and supportive environment to help women achieve their health and fitness goals. 

Activites include: running/walking, hiking, swimming, interval training, nutrition counseling, strength training, yoga, meditation and more!

During each 12-week session, we try to include a weekend retreat. Previous adventures have included trips to Volcano National Park on the Big Island, Camp Erdman (where we challenged ourselves on the ropes course) and a personal improvement retreat at Malaekahana. Make a commitment to yourself and join today!



New members are always welcome at any time.
Meeting times are every Monday, Wednesday (5:30 pm -7:00 pm) and Saturday (7:00 am-8:30 am). Meeting locations are outdoors and usually in the Honolulu area.

Fall Session 2008: September 22 - December 13, 2008
Orientation meeting at the Ward Entertainment Starbucks on September 13, 2008 @ 9:00 am.

Cost: $375+tax.

Winter Session 2008: January 14 - April 5, 2008
Orientation on January 12, 2008@ 9:00 am at Starbuck's by Ward Theaters on corner of Auahi and Kamakee.

Spring Session 2008: April 29 - July 12, 2008
Orientation on April 19, 2008 @ 9:00am at Starbuck's by Ward Theaters on corner of Auahi and Kamakee.

Summer Session 2008: July 23 - September 10, 2008
Every Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:00pm. First session on Wednesday, July 23 meets at Ala Moana Beach Park by the main bathrooms off the Magic Island parking lot at 5:30pm. Wear your regular workout clothes, bring a towel and water. See you there.

Fall Session 2007: September 17 - December 8, 2007
Orientation on September 15, 2007 @ 9:30am at Starbuck's by Ward Theaters on corner of Auahi and Kamakee.

Cost: $375+tax per session, 10% discount if you join with a friend.

Team Try Fitness

Team Try Fitness offers 3 triathlon training programs for women throughout the year.

1) Honu Endurance Training

Try Fitness takes it to another level with our Endurance Training for Women. Let us help you get ready for the Honu Half Ironman on June 2. Build endurance, strength and stamina while improving for and technique in your swim, bike and run. Take up the challenge and join our experienced coaching staff for the big adventure.

Session dates: March 16 - May 31, 2008
Training: Tues/Thurs 5:15-7:30 pm and Sundays 7:00-9:00 am.
Training Weekend: April 26-27, 2008
Free Orientation at Island Triathlon and Bike on Saturday March 15, 2008 @ 9:00 am.
Cost: $450+tax


2) Tinman Training for Women

This training helps you prepare for the Tinman Triathlon in July.

From April 29 - July 20, 2008
Training: Tues/Thurs 5:15-7:30 pm Sundays 7:00-9:00 am
Training Weekend: June 28-June 29, 2008
Cost: $425+tax for this program.

Orientation Meeting: Saturday, April 26, 2008 @ 9:00am at Island Triathlon and Bike.

NEW! For those women with flexible schedules, we're offering morning training from 7:00-9:00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Sundays, both groups will train together. Minimum:10 participants.

3) Na Wahine Triathlon Training

Join Tanya Sells, 2003 and 2004 Na Wahine Sprint Triathlon winner and 2004 Honolulu Triathlon winner, along with KC Carlberg, USA Certified Triathlon Coach, and her experienced coaching staff including Siobhan Budge, Christine Chaplin and Dorian Cuccia, as they help you prepare for the 10th annual Na Wahine Sprint Triathlon on September 14, 2008.

Both Novice and Intermediate/Advanced programs. Let our qualified staff of coaches help you get fit with interval training, ocean swims, bike trainer workouts, long bike rides and practice triathlons. Improve your swim/bike/run transitions and more in a fun and supportive group environment.

Sessions dates: July 22 - September 14, 2008
Training: Tues/Thurs 5:15 -7:30 pm and Saturdays from 7:00-9:00 am
Cost: $300+tax for the 8-week program or $180+tax for Saturdays only.

Orientation Meeting: July 19, 2008 at Island Triathlon and Bike @ 9:00 am.

Cycling Training for Women

Cycling Team PhotoJoin Team Try Fitness Women's cycling Team 2008!
An 8-week program designed for beginner and intermediate cyclists.
Beginner: Learn the basics and develop the skills and confidence for commuting and racing.
Intermediate: Improve skills, strength and endurance for racing and more.

Learn how to:
-Ride in traffic and feel comfortable on the road
-Cycle with proper form and technique
-Care for your bicycle and make minor repairs
-Increase cardiovascular fitness through cross training and innovative techniques
-Develop racing skills to compete safely
-Have fun cycling and make new friends
-Prepare for road racing

Session dates: January 8 - March 2, 2008
Training: Tues/Thurs 5:15 - 7:30pm and Sun 7:00 - 9:00am
Training Weekend: February 9-10, 2008
Orientation meeting: January 5, 2008 @ 9:00am at Island Triathlon and Bike.
Cost: $300+tax (3x/week)

Team Try Fitness Club

If you like to cycle with a group, want to improve your cardiovascular fitness and have fun, join the Team Try Fitness Club!

For just $20 per year, your membership card will get you special discounts at local retailers such as Island Triathlon and Bike, the Running Room; participation in seminars on sports nutrition, alternative healing, wellness and more! Club fees help to underwrite club events and USA Cycling dues.

Team Try Fitness Club rides will be held every Saturday morning, leaving promptly at 7:00am. Arrive at the ride prepared to be "self-supported" with all your gear. You set the pace and distance. Routes and meeting locations will be regularly posted on our web site.

Marathon Training for Women

Basic Training for Women

Strend Champion Glynis Ramirez and Triathlon Coach KC Carlberg will guide you in this cutting edge training to help you jump start your fitness program and set you on your way to achieving your fitness goals. This 3- week intense program will include core strengthening and conditioning, trail running, fitness ball workouts, swimming, nutrition counseling and more. Challenge yourself to do more than you thought you ever could. Start out 2008 with a bang and get back to basics.

One-on-One Training

Athletes meet with KC for an evaluation, testing and a discussion of your goals.

KC will then design a program to meet these goals and train you  one-on-one for an hour each session.  The workouts include nutrition counseling and exercises to improve strength, power, flexibility, balance, agility and speed.  This program is appropriate for athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Fun and Fitness with a Friend

KC will come to your home, office, or other location and conduct 1- to 2-hour fitnessessions for you and your friends.  Group size minimum is four women. Programs are designed to fit your personal interests and goals. Locations of sessions are selected based on convenience for you. Training with a group is supportive, motivating and fun.

Cost: $100 per session. Minimum purchase of eight sessions to be paid in advance.  One session equals one hour.
